Cycle Chic in the Street is a fabulous new event to show off YOUR unique cycle style to Wellington’s fabulous community of bike lovers. It’s about everyday wear (no spectacular dress-ups) and open to everyone – and it’s FREE! Anyone can enter, or if you’re feeling shy, just come along to watch and help judge.

But we have some amazing incentives to enter… Did we mention the prizes?? Oh yes, there are some fabulous prizes! The wonderful peeps from Emporium, Good as Gold, iRide, Triumph & Disaster, Antipodes, Fredrick St Cafe and Lamason Brew Bar have donated such a tempting array of prizes that we’re dreaming up excuses to enter ourselves!

All the details are on the Frocks on Bikes website, but here are the essentials. Write this into your diary now – you don’t want to miss out!

    WHERE’S YOUR HELMET!
    or silly hat
Helmet hair is a problem and helmets make you look silly.
Helmet laws put a lot of potential female cyclists off riding.

The main reason pushbike helmet laws put a lot of people off cycling is because it is not convenient to put a helmet on, take it off, carry it around everywhere you go. DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!
It’s a hassle, another hurdle to cycling, it’s uncomfortable, makes you sweat more, and it looks stupid.
